June 14th Cycling Event (Rose Hill Recreation Ground) |
|
| Derby Cycling Group supported an event
which took place on the Rose Hill Recreation Ground on Saturday June
14th.
This was an excellent family day, offering children of all ages, cycling proficiency tests, racing, BMX competitions and Security advice for cycle owners. |
|
| The event took place in the heat of a bright and sunny June day, lots of ice cream, face painting, hot and cold food stalls, funs and games for all ages, along with cycle maintenance advice, bicycle security advice and free post coding of bicycles by the local police. | |
| A rather exhausted but happy, Karin Aberg, Arboretum Smiles Again Coordinator, said "It's been a great day, with a good turnout, everyone seems to have really enjoyed themselves", the last time I saw Karin was at 7.00pm, rolling up yellow bunting and clearing up the site. | |
| I was approached by several of the local children, proudly showing off their silver, bronze and gold, cycling medals - Let's hope that we see a lot more events like this on this recreation ground. | |
