The East and West Pavilions

There were two pavilions (also designed by Edward Buckton Lamb), one at either end of the East - West straight path.  This is the surviving Eastern Pavilion.

The Loyal Prudence Lodge of the United Ancient Order of Druids unexpectedly presented Joseph Strutt with an award for his benevolence, at this pavilion on the afternoon of Wednesday September 16th 1840.

Archeologists uncover the foundations of the old West Pavilion.

The remains of the foundations are in exceptionally good condition and show us that the dimensions of the old pavilion were identical to the East Pavilion.  The building stood further away from the wall than expected.

The new structure will be completed within the next few weeks.

The stone and brickwork is of an excellent quality, and to the same standards of the original Victorian craftsmen.
